James Kaprielian Pitches Well Despite Loss At Colorado
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian allowed two runs in five innings but was outpitched by German Marquez Sunday at Coors Field. Kaprielian danced around trouble all afternoon as he allowed eight hits and three walks, but he managed to escape with just the two runs allowed. The right-hander has been a pleasant surprise for the A's and fantasy managers alike this season. He's got a solid 3.09 ERA with a respectable 25 percent strikeout rate. Opposing hitters are batting just .204 against him and he's got more strikeouts than innings pitched. He's not a must-start fantasy option, but there's a lot to like from Kaprielian so far this season. He's a start-worthy pitcher in his next outing at home against Kansas City.
