3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a walk in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox. Sanchez came up with the bases loaded and delivered a two-run double with a 104.3 MPH exit velocity. The slugger has a poor 10:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 19 June at-bats, though he also owns a solid .263 batting average with three doubles and a pair of RBI. Sanchez is tied for seventh among catchers in home runs, though his underlying metrics have yet to resemble those from his strong 2017 and 2019 campaigns. He is still slightly underperforming his expected wOBA, so perhaps there is some more offensive potential in his bat this season.--Tim Capurso
