3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hip) is expected to play in at least three rehab games before returning to the big club. Buxton is batting second as the designated hitter in his first game action since May 6 for the Triple-A St. Paul Saints Tuesday. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that the plan is for Buxton to play the next two games in the field, with the Twins likely assessing his readiness following those contests. Buxton is close to a return, which is excellent news as he was playing like an American League MVP candidate before his injury.--Tim Capurso
