Kris Bryant Not In Wednesday's Lineup
3 years agoChicago Cubs corner infielder/outfielder Kris Bryant will get a day of rest on Wednesday versus the San Diego Padres. Bryant has been having a MVP type season, but has struggled over the past week with five hits over his last 23 at-bats. Managers have no reason to worry with this being the first time all season that Bryant has been in a slump. The former National League MVP and upcoming free agent is hitting .307 with 13 home runs, 38 RBI and three stolen bases. Bryant will be replaced in the lineup by outfielder Rafael Ortega. Ortega will bat fifth and should be avoided in a tough matchup versus Yu Darvish.
