3 years agoToronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jordan Romano was called upon in the eighth inning to face the top of the White Sox lineup in which he worked a scoreless frame to preserve a 4-2 lead at the time. The right-hander worked around a leadoff walk to Tim Anderson who went on to steal second and third base, but he prevented him from scoring with a shallow fly, strikeout, and a groundout. It's clear manager Charlie Montoyo wants Romano working the most high-leverage spots in the game no matter what inning, which is unfortunate for fantasy purposes since it will cut into his save chances. Still, his 1.74 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts in 20 2/3 IP are certainly playable in leagues despite just three saves on the season.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
