Hyun-Jin Ryu Takes Loss Against White Sox
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu fell to 5-4 on the season as his club was defeated by the White Sox 5-2 on Thursday. The veteran southpaw surrendered three runs on five hits and a walk with three punchouts through six frames in the 95-pitch outing. Ryu had only one bad inning, which came in the first, where he yielded all three runs on two doubles and a two-run homer off the bat of Yasmani Grandal. He settled down after that, but the offense was unable to make a comeback to prevent him from taking a loss. Ryu will take a 3.34 ERA and 1.10 WHIP into his next scheduled start versus the Yankees next week.
