3 years agoColorado Rockies' second baseman Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and two RBI in an 11-4 loss to the Marlins on Thursday. Rodgers didn't start in this ball game but made his way into the lineup in the top of the seventh with the Rockies trailing 11-0. He took Marlins starter Trevor Rogers deep for his second shot of the year, finally putting Colorado on the board. He then tacked on an RBI single in the top of the eighth inning to score C.J. Cron. The former top prospect is now slashing a solid .280/.362/.420 with two home runs and 10 RBI across 50 at-bats this year. Hopefully, the Rockies will come to their senses and start playing him every day from now on.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
