3 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double, a sacrifice fly, and a walk in Thursday's win over the New York Yankees. Cruz had a busy night at the plate, putting the Twins on the board with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, ripping an RBI double in the seventh, then delivering a walk-off homer in the ninth. The veteran slugger's home run was absolutely demolished 457 feet at an exit velocity of 112.4 MPH. It was his first long ball since May 19, as he dealt with wrist and knee injuries, though he now has three extra-base hits in his last three contests and will carry a .421 batting average in June into the next series against the Houston Astros.--Tim Capurso
