3 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton drilled a three-run homer in Thursday's loss to the Minnesota Twins. Stanton got the scoring started for New York in the first inning, clubbing a 2-1 slider 422 feet into the center-field seats at an exit velocity of 107.7 MPH. It's his 12th long ball of the season and his third in the last two games to go along with eight RBI. Stanton won't play in the upcoming series against the Philadelphia Phillies with no designated hitter, which is unfortunate considering his recent stretch of play. The Yankees will undoubtedly turn to him as a pinch hitter at some point, though fantasy managers will have to wait until the following series against the Toronto Blue Jays for a more steady dose of Stanton at-bats.--Tim Capurso
