4 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Michael Plassmeyer has been traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for pitcher Matt Wisler and cash considerations. This season, Wisler has a 6.05 ERA, 26/6 K/BB over 19 1/3 innings. Obviously, those aren't great stats, but the Rays find a way to turn mediocre players into league average or better options. Plassmeyer holds a 3.64 ERA and 33/7 K/BB ratio over 29 2/3 innings in Double-A this season. He'll likely end up as a back-end starter or possibly a reliever whenever he does make the big league roster.
