Lou Trivino Picks Up Relief Win On Friday
3 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win on Friday versus the Royals. Trivino was called on to get out of a jam left by co-closer Jake Diekman in the eighth inning. Trivino escaped the inning and followed that up with a scoreless ninth to preserve the tie and pick up the win when Oakland walked off in the bottom of the inning. This outing makes it 11 of his last 12 appearances where Trivino has not allowed an earned run. Manager Bob Melvin likes to play the matchups with the righty Trivino and the lefty Diekman, using both in high-leverage situations. Both pitchers should be rostered in fantasy leagues that reward saves.
