Francisco Lindor Sets Tone Early In Mets Victory
3 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the Mets 4-1 win over the Padres on Sunday. Lindor belted his home run off of Padres starter Joe Musgrove in the first inning. He would also walk once and score two runs. Lindor came into Saturday's game with just one hit over his last 13 at-bats, so his homer (his sixth of the season) was a welcome sight. Lindor is now slashing .215/.309/.346 with six HR, and 15 RBI in 2021. Despite the less than impressive counting stats, Lindor should remain active in all formats. His bat had been hot with an eight-game hitting streak prior to his 1-for-13 skid. Saturday's performance could be the start of another hot streak for the All-Star shortstop.
