BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 12% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It took years of limited opportunity with mixed success for Max Stassi hanging around the majors, but full seasons for the Angels seem to be doing him wonders. Last season was his breakout campaign at the age of 29, hitting for seven home runs and an .886 OPS, and now so far through 58 AB in 2021, Stassi has netted eight XBH (four doubles, four HR) and a beefy slash of .345/.397/.621.
Last season, Stassi made strides with his superior plate discipline at the catcher position and made leaps in his power hitting. This year, while Stassi's walk rate has taken a hit and he is striking out more frequently, the quality of contact made on batted balls has taken a significant turn for the better once again, as he is currently producing 60% hard contact, a 93.8 MPH average exit velocity, while hitting line drives at a 30% clip, making his .276 ISO and .444 BABIP look for the most part, sustainable. With that level of offensive performance being put into each batted ball, Max Stassi has worked himself comfortably into the ranks of worthwhile acquisitions for deeper leagues.
