3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 3-for-5 in the team's 18-4 rout over the Red Sox on Sunday. He belted his sixth homer of the season off Martin Perez in the first inning and added a pair of singles to push his batting average up to .266 on the campaign. After hitting just .219 at the end of April, Gurriel has turned his season around thanks to a .363 BA since May 14, but he's yet to impact the counting categories with 22 runs and 22 RBI on the year. The 27-year-old should remain an asset in the batting average category moving forward, but unless he graduates from the bottom-third of the batting order, his counting stats will continue to underwhelm.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
