4 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (thumb) has been scratched from Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He missed a few games earlier in the week due to soreness in his thumb. He struggled heavily over the last two games, so the Cubs will give Baez a day off here. Hopefully this isn't something that is going to force Baez onto the injured list. In the meantime, Sergio Alcantara will draw the start at shortstop versus Carlos Martinez on Sunday. He won't be much of a streaming option, so hopefully Baez doesn't miss significant time.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
