3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers swatted his third home run of the season in Sunday's 14-3 loss to the Houston Astros. Jeffers got the Twins on the board in the fifth inning, sending an 0-1 changeup 414 feet into left field at an exit velocity of 104.3 MPH. The 24-year-old backstop is still hitting just .197 on the season but has slugged three home runs, a triple, and a double since being recalled on June 2. Best of all, Jeffers has been behind the plate for eight of his team's last 10 games, operating as the full-time catcher with Mitch Garver (groin) sidelined. Jeffers is certainly worth a look for those who need catching help.--Tim Capurso
