3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo (finger) could be headed for a rehab assignment later this week, SI.com reported, citing comments from manager Luis Rojas. Nimmo, who has been out since early May, took batting practice on Monday. He and Michael Conforto appear to be about a week behind Jeff McNeil in working their way back to the banged-up club. Nimmo, who was hitting .318 with one home run, eight RBI and two stolen bases in 21 games this year, can be a borderline fantasy contributor outside of the power categories when he returns to action.--Josh Friedman
