Fernando Tatis Jr. Gives Offense Early Spark
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. blasted his 20th homer Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies, his only hit in four at-bats. Tatis launched a first-pitch offering from starter Chi Chi Gonzalez towards the opposite field in the first inning to extend his NL lead in long balls. The only semblance of offensive production for a slumping Friars offense, El Niño continues to be a fantasy powerhouse, slashing .273/.346/.647 with 13 steals and 91 runs-plus-RBI to complement the round-trippers. Despite hitting just .200 in June, Tatis has cranked four dingers, demonstrating a tremendous floor even amidst a temporary downturn.
