3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Kevin Pillar went 2-for-4 with a home run, double, two RBI, and two runs scored in the Mets 6-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Pillar's home run was his fifth of the season. He now owns a .250/.289/.430 slash line with the five homers, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored, and two steals on the season. Pillar has been a critical piece for the Mets while many regulars including Brandon Nimmo (finger), Michael Conforto (hamstring), and Jeff McNeil (hamstring) have been sidelined. Pillar will continue to get most of the playing time in centerfield until Nimmo returns from the injured list. That said, given Pillar's intrinsic value as a sparkplug to the team (and contributions on both offense and defense), he may have secured more playing time even when Nimmo returns. He remains a firm add and streaming option for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues and NL-only formats while he is regularly hitting in the middle of the Mets lineup.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
