Anthony Rendon Out For Third Straight Game
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (triceps) is out of Thursday's lineup against the Detroit Tigers for the third straight game since appearing to injure himself on a diving play in Monday's game against the Oakland Athletics, although it appears he will be available as a pinch-hitter. The Angels seem to still be confident the 31-year-old won't have to go on the injured list, so Rendon could be back in the starting lineup as early as Friday. Kean Wong will slide into Rendon's spot in the infield and bat sixth against 23-year-old Matt Manning, who is making his MLB debut. Wong has five hits (no homers) in 38 plate appearances (.147 average) this year and is hitting .154/.170/.212 in 22 career MLB games. Avoid him in DFS.
