3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez earned the win on Thursday when he allowed just one hit with three walks and two strikeouts over six innings in a 7-3 win over the Brewers. Marquez outdueled Brandon Woodruff on Thursday, quieting the Brewers' bats over his six innings. He walked three batters and only struck out two but holding Milwaukee to just one hit was impressive enough. Despite the three walks, he was fairly efficient on the day, needing only 83 pitches to get through his start. The stellar outing gives him a 5-6 record and moves his ERA to a respectable 4.26 to along with a 1.38 WHIP and 82:39 K/BB ratio over 82 1/3 innings (15 starts). He's got an easy matchup on the road for his next start when the Rockies visit the Mariners in Seattle.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
