Brett Gardner Starting In Center Once Again
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner will draw his sixth straight start in center field on Friday against the Oakland Athletics. Gardner will bat ninth against Athletics' right-hander James Kaprielian. The veteran outfielder has surprisingly settled in as the team's starting center fielder and is certainly making the most of the added playing time. Gardner is slashing .303/.442/.636 with two home runs, five RBI, and a 7:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio in June. Kaprielian has allowed a .802 OPS to lefties compared to a .463 mark to righties, making Gardner a cheap, intriguing DFS option on Friday night.
