3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Robbie Ray lasted just 4 1/3 innings versus the Orioles on Friday, allowing two runs in a 7-1 loss. The lefty gave up six hits and two walks while striking out five before manager Charlie Montoyo brought out the hook in the fifth after he surrendered an RBI single on his 106th pitch of the night. Ray had gone at least six innings in each of his three previous starts going into this one, so it was a little disappointing that he couldn't make it through five frames versus an underwhelming lineup. He still carries a respectable 3.50 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 97 punchouts in 74 2/3 IP on the year as he looks ahead to a rematch with this same Baltimore club next week.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
