Tyler Mahle Strikes Out Eight In Four Innings
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle turned in an inefficient outing in a 7-5 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Monday. Mahle allowed three runs over four innings while striking out eight and walking three. He needed 93 pitches to get through four innings, 56 of which went for strikes. It wasn't the most effective outing of the season for Mahle but he still managed to come away with an impressive eight punchouts on an excellent 32% CSW (called strikes+whiffs rate). After the no-decision, Mahle now has a 7-2 record, 3.56 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 98 strikeouts in 78 1/3 innings of work. Mahle will look for his eighth win against the Atlanta Braves next time out.
