Kyle Freeland Looks Sharp In No-Decision
3 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland took a no-decision on Tuesday when he surrendered one run on five hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in a 2-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners. This was Freeland's best outing of the year, by far, as he set season highs in innings pitched and strikeouts while only surrendering one run. J.P. Crawford knocked an RBI single off of him in the fifth inning, which accounted for the only Seattle run until the eighth inning. Freeland still owns a hideous 7.76 ERA, 1.99 WHIP, and 19:12 K/BB ratio on the year but this start was something to build on. The 28-year-old southpaw has another favorable matchup vs. the Pirates at home in his next start. He should still be avoided for fantasy purposes at the moment, however.
