Trevor Story Goes Yard Twice In Win Over The M's
3 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, two runs scored, and a strikeout in a 5-2 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. Story had a big day at the dish, swatting two homers to power the Rockies to a series split with Seattle. He took Justus Sheffield deep for a solo blast in the top of the fourth inning that put Colorado up 3-0. He then parked a clutch two-run shot off of Vinny Nittoli in the eighth inning that put the Rockies up 5-1. They were his only hits of the ball game but they were big ones. The 28-year-old shortstop is slashing .393/.438/.786 with three homers, eight RBI, and four stolen bases over his last seven games and now has eight long balls, 32 RBI, and 13 stolen bases on the season. He's in line for a big second half.
