Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Belts Grand Slam Versus Orioles
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. smacked a grand slam on Thursday, helping his club defeat the Orioles 9-0. The 369' foot shot over the left field fence broke the game open by giving the Jays a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as the 27-year-old finished the night going 1-for-4. It was the eighth homer of the campaign for Gurriel who now sits with 28 RBI, 26 runs, and a .255 BA through 66 games. He's been a slight disappointment for fantasy owners this season, due in part to his sluggish start combined with a spot in the bottom-third of the batting order. Gurriel is still worth hanging onto in deeper leagues, but there's likely more appealing options out there in some 12-teamers.
