Cade Cavalli Strikes Out 11 Batters At Double-A
3 years agoWashington Nationals prospect Cade Cavalli wasn't his sharpest on Thursday but he still struck out 11 batters in 5 2/3 innings of work at Double-A. The 22-year-old hurler allowed two runs on six hits and four walks. Cavalli opened the year at High-A ball and posted a 1.77 ERA with a K-BB of 71-12 in 40 2/3 innings. He also allowed just 24 hits. Since moving up to Double-A, he's continued to miss bats but has struggled with his control. In 11 2/3 innings, he has 17 strikeouts with eight walks. Overall, Cavalli features a strikeout rate of around 40%. Ranked by Rotoballer as the Nationals' top prospect, he should be ready for The Show in 2022 and should be closely monitored in dynasty leagues.
