3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Justin Upton (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday due to a strained right lower back, the team announced on Twitter. Upton has been having a nice year at the plate so far, slashing .247/.336/.480 with 14 homers, 32 RBI and 40 runs scored over 60 games. To fill his spot on the roster, the Angels recalled infielder Kean Wong from Triple-A Salt Lake City. Upton's absence will likely mean increased playing time for Taylor Ward, who is starting in left field for Friday night's game with the Rays.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
