4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola struck out 10 straight Mets on Friday to tie the consecutive strikeout record set by Mets legend Tom Seaver in 1970. Nola had 12 strikeouts overall to match his career-high while tossing 5 1/3 shutout innings. The right-hander allowed the first two batters to reach base but struck out the side to begin a run of 10 straight K's with the Mets wearing Seaver's No. 41 on their sleeves to honor the late Hall of Famer. Nola also collected two hits and an RBI, but unfortunately that was his only offensive support, and he didn't earn the win when the Philly bullpen blew yet another save. Nola should be started in all leagues in his next start versus the Marlins.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
