4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Jose Alvarado gave up a game-tying single to Francisco Lindor with two outs in the ninth to blow a save versus the Mets on Friday. It was a tough-luck-blown save for Alvarado as he was called on for a five-out save with just a one-run lead. Alvarado did his job in the sixth inning when he got a strikeout and groundout to escape a bases-loaded jam. He caused his one misfortune in the seventh, however, as his throwing error allowed the eventual tying run to score. The Phillies bullpen blew their league-leading 16th save this season and it's anyone's guess who gets the next save chance. Alvarado is the most likely choice, but Hector Neris, Ranger Suarez, and Archie Bradley are also in the mix.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
