3 years agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Garrett Whitlock was credited with his third win of the season Friday, having pitched two innings of relief against the New York Yankees. He allowed just one hit and struck out two, dropping his season ERA to 1.49 with a 1.16 WHIP and 38 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings. With the starting rotation scuffling of late, Whitlock could be primed to be used as a piggyback option, which would give him an increased opportunity to be credited with wins. For now, he isn't a priority add, but fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on his usage.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
