3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson went six innings pitched in the second game of a doubleheader on Friday against the Phillies, allowing just one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out five. The Mets lost 2-1, but Peterson did not factor into the decision. Peterson has now allowed just two earned runs in his last 16 2/3 IP (an ERA of 1.08) over three starts while striking out 14 batters. Immediately prior to these three most recent starts, Peterson had endured a rancid stretch of having allowed 15 earned runs, 21 hits, and eight walks in 13 2/3 IP over four starts.
