3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Daniel Bard blew the save on Friday when he surrendered two runs on one hit with a walk and three strikeouts over one inning in a 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Brewers. Bard was tasked with protecting a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning but quickly fell apart. He walked Omar Narvaez to start things off before serving up the game-tying two-run dinger to Willy Adames immediately after. He struck out three of the next four batters he faced but the damage was done and the Rockies would go on to lose the game in extra-innings. This was Bard's second blown save in the last three chances and his ERA now sits at 4.60 with a 1.60 WHIP and 41:14 K/BB ratio over 31 1/3 innings. Carlos Estevez, who earned a hold in the eighth inning, would be next in line for saves if manager Bud Black were to shake things up.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
