Ryan Yarbrough Set To Start Sunday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-hander Ryan Yarbrough will start for the team against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday. The 29-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Rays this year, 10 of which have been starts. All told in 80 1/3 innings, he's worked to a 4.59 ERA while collecting 66 strikeouts and 14 walks. The ERA isn't ideal, but Yarbrough's 4.10 xERA and 4.36 FIP look much better on paper. If you're in need of a streaming option in a deeper league this weekend, he could be someone to target on the waiver wire. The Angels do have a top-10 offense in terms of wRC+ and runs scored, but Mike Trout and Justin Upton are on the injured list. Furthermore, of the eight Los Angeles batters on the active roster with at least 100 plate appearances this season, five have a wRC+ of 85 or lower.
