Eduardo Escobar Sitting Sunday; Expected To Be Traded
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks infielder Eduardo Escobar is on the bench for Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres with right-hander Yu Darvish on the mound as trade speculation around the 32-year-old switch-hitter intensifies. According to a source, he's expected to be traded. Escobar, who drove in five runs on Saturday, is having a solid season with a .254/.300/.784 slash line and could be an appreciating asset in redraft leagues if cellar-dwelling Arizona deals him to a contender. Asdrubal Cabrera is manning the hot corner and batting third, while Josh VanMeter is playing second base and leading off. Daulton Varsho is catching and batting seventh. Fantasy managers needing daily plug-ins can do better than VanMeter and Varsho, but Cabrera is an option, as he has hit two homers against Darvish in 11 lifetime at-bats.
