Kyle Freeland Exits Monday's Game With Leg Injury
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland (leg) left Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with what appeared to be a leg injury. Freeland was running the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning when he pulled up short and hobbled to third base before consulting with head athletic trainer Keith Duggar and exiting the game. The early exit is disappointing given the 28-year-old southpaw was having a solid outing, finishing with seven strikeouts and only allowing three hits through five innings pitched. Regardless of how long Freeland might be out of the rotation, however, his 9.16 ERA through June is enough to keep him off of fantasy rosters.
