3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Spencer Howard allowed four hits and two runs in 2 1/3 innings pitched in a no-decision versus the Reds. Howard has completed the third inning just once in his last three starts and is yet to record an out in the fifth inning this season. The 24-year-old has been excellent the first time through the batting order as he's got a minuscule .103 batting average against him. Things change the second time though, however; batters are mashing to the tune of a .353 average and 824 slugging percentage the second time they see Howard. The top-prospect is still a must-roster pitcher in dynasty leagues, but he has little redraft value unless he winds up in the closer role down the line. With how bad the Philly bullpen has been, Howard may well be ticketed for the 'pen sooner rather than later.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
