Mauricio Dubon Optioned To Triple-A
3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants optioned Mauricio Dubon to Triple-A on Tuesday while also recalling infielder Thairo Estrada. Dubon had played second base, third base, shortstop and center field for San Francisco this season but struggled at the plate. The 26-year-old hit just .234 with a .272 on-base percentage, five home runs and a pair of stolen bases in 169 plate appearances. He's probably someone you can drop, even in deeper leagues. Estrada was hitting .385 with a 1.057 OPS in 174 Triple-A plate appearances this season. Capable of playing second base, third base and shortstop, he'll join a somewhat crowded Giants infield mix. Even with Tommy La Stella, Evan Longoria and Brandon Belt on the injured list, San Francisco still has Donovan Solano, Wilmer Flores and Brandon Crawford at Estrada's primary positions.
