3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda struggled mightily in Tuesday's loss to the Chicago White Sox. Maeda lasted just 4 2/3 innings, surrendering seven runs on eight hits while walking a season-high five batters. He did strike out four batters and generated 11 whiffs, though it wasn't enough to mask another disappointing performance by the veteran. Maeda walked three of the first four batters he faced but somehow made it out of the inning with just one run allowed. He was done in by poor innings in the third and fifth frames. Maeda's velocity and spin rates were down in this start, which can be tacked onto the list of worries with the right-handed hurler. With a 5.56 ERA and career-low 21.7 percent strikeout rate, Maeda is nearly impossible to start for fantasy purposes right now, though he's worth holding for managers who can afford to do so.--Tim Capurso
