3 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two RBI, and a strikeout in a 6-2 win over the Pirates on Wednesday. Cron put the Rockies on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning when he took Chad Kuhl deep for his 11th long ball of the season. He would add another RBI with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to give the Rockies a 3-2 lead. The 31-year-old slugger has slowed down at the dish over the last week, hitting just .120 (3-for-25) over the last seven games. He's hit six home runs over his last 50 at-bats, however, and appears to have turned a corner after a sluggish start to the season. He's slashing .252/.349/.466 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI over 206 at-bats on the season.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
