Chi Chi Gonzalez Goes Seven Strong Innings Against The Cards
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez took a no-decision on Friday when he allowed two runs on seven hits with a strikeout across seven innings in a 9-3 loss to the Cardinals. Gonzalez gave the Cards fits all night long despite only striking out one batter. He kept them off balance and scattered seven hits over his seven innings of work. He served up a two-run homer to Yadier Molina in the top of the second inning, which accounted for the only damage against him. He was in line for the victory before Justin Lawrence and Yency Almonte combined to blow the save and lose the game. Gonzalez now owns a lackluster 5.52 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 42:20 K/BB ratio over 76 2/3 innings (16 appearances, 12 starts). He'll get the D-Backs on the road in his next turn. He doesn't miss enough bats to warrant any streaming value though.
