3 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in a 9-3 loss to the Cardinals on Friday. Diaz took Johan Oviedo deep with a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game at 2-2. It was Diaz's fourth home run in the last four games. The 30-year-old has been on quite a tear over the last week, slashing .435/.500/1.043 with four homers and seven RBI. He finally has his season batting average above the Mendoza Line for the first time since April 3. He's slashing .203/.279/.377 with six home runs and 15 RBI on the year. He should get the majority of the playing time behind the plate moving forward.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
