3 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher David Hess was traded to the Miami Marlins for right-handed pitching prospect Justin Sterner and cash considerations, according to the Miami Herald. Hess was impressive at Triple-A Durham this season, earning a 2.81 ERA with a 1.03 WHIP and 37 strikeouts to just five walks across 32 innings, including two starts. The 27-year-old right-hander bolsters the Miami bullpen. He is unlikely to be a factor in redraft leagues this season, but he could be a name to watch in deeper dynasty and keeper formats in case his career blossoms late. Jordan Holloway was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Hess on the active roster.--Josh Friedman
