Ranger Suarez Earns First Save For Phillies
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Ranger Suarez pitched a clean ninth inning to earn his first save of the season. Suarez faced the heart of the Padres' batting order with a two-run lead and got through the outing without issue while picking up a strikeout. The right-hander hadn't earned a save at any level since rookie-ball in 2012, but given the Phillies bullpen issues, he may be the man moving forward. Suarez has a 0.85 ERA on the season with a 0.69 WHIP as he's easily been the most reliable arm for manager Joe Girardi. He's likely unavailable Sunday, but fantasy managers desperate for saves can take a chance on Suarez.
