3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Daniel Bard earned the save on Saturday when he allowed one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning in a 3-2 win over the Cardinals. Bard was able to notch his 12th save of the season but it wasn't without drama. He walked Paul DeJong to start things off before getting the next two batters out. Tommy Edman then doubled to left field but DeJong wasn't able to score from first on the play. Bard had runners on second and third with two outs and was able to strike out Dylan Carlson on six pitches to end the game. The 36-year-old now owns a 4.08 ERA and 1.56 WHIP to go along with 47 strikeouts over 35 1/3 innings on the season. He'll continue to get all the save opportunities he can handle.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
