3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin allowed two runs on five hits across seven innings in a no-decision versus the Red Sox on Saturday. Irvin walked two and struck out five in his latest good start for the A's. The 27-year-old-lefty has a 3.56 ERA, but his 4.58 SIERA and 4.61 xFIP imply he could see some ERA regression, especially if his eight percent HR/FB normalizes. Despite some red flags, Irvin has been very good this season and should be started when he has a good matchup. His next outing is at Texas so get him in starting lineups for that outing.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
