3 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/outfielder Dominic Smith went a combined 2-for-7 with a home run, double, two runs scored, and a walk in the Mets doubleheader against the Yankees on Sunday. Smith belted a solo shot off of Gerrit Cole in the first game of the doubleheader, followed by a 1-for-3 performance in the nightcap. The red-hot Smith is now slashing .417/.440/.875 with three home runs, six RBI, and eight runs scored over his last seven games. Fantasy managers who have, justifiably, had Smith on the bench these past weeks may wish to activate him while he is on fire. The Mets begin a full-slate of home games this week on Monday with three against the Brewers and four against the Pirates. Smith should be a mainstay hitting third in the Mets lineup throughout the homestand.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
