3 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Michael Wacha threw six strong innings to help the Rays beat the Cleveland Indians in the first game of the doubleheader between the teams on Wednesday. Wacha surrendered just four hits and an earned run in six innings. The only run came around to score on a solo home run from Franmil Reyes in the second inning. Overall, the 30-year-old needed 90 pitches to complete six innings. He had a strong 33% CSW rate on the day. Wacha has struggled at times this season, and Tampa Bay has used him both as a traditional starter and as an opener. However, if you're desperate for rotation depth in deeper leagues, Wacha might be someone to take a flier on in the second half. The Rays are in the thick of a playoff race, so the veteran could be in line for more victories if he's utilized as a traditional starter.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
