3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler allowed seven runs - four earned - across 5 2/3 innings in a loss at Wrigley Field on Wednesday. Oh what might have been. Wheeler appeared to be out of the first inning with just 13 pitches, however, an error on shortstop Didi Gregorius extended the inning. Wheeler would allow three unearned runs to cross the plate while wasting valuable pitches trying to wiggle out of the jam. He settled in nicely after that and even picked up six strikeouts, but the damage was done. The first-time All Star finished the first half at 6-5 with a 2.26 ERA, a 0.97 WHIP and 145 strikeouts in 119 2/3 innings. Wheeler is a must-start SP1 who should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
